High-temp Accelerometers Suit Downhole Mapping Apps

MWD accelerometerColumbia Research Lab’s Model SA-120RHT was designed as a measurement while drilling (MWD) sensor for use in downhole well service applications. This force balance accelerometer is capable of operating at temperatures of up to 200°C under extreme shock and vibration conditions. According to the company, Model SA-120RHT is completely self-contained and provides high level, low impedance output, eliminating the need for additional high temperature signal conditioning. The device  weighs 1.5 oz maximum and is 1.0” in diameter x 0.73” H.
