Twelve-Bit Quad DAC First With Non-Volatile EEPROM
Enabling configuration data to load automatically on start up, the MCP4728 digital to analog converter (DAC) from Microchip Technology is presented as the first 12-bit Quad DAC to include non-volatile EEPROM. With features that include an internal voltage reference, the device accepts input codes, configuration bits, and I²C address bits using I²C serial-interface commands. Each channel can be individually shut down, reducing power consumption to as low as 0.04 µA. An on-chip output amplifier enables a rail-to-rail analog output. Available in a 10-pin MSOP for $1.36 each in 10,000-unit quantities.
