Targeting a range of drive applications across a variety of industries, Infineon Technologies announced the availability of microcontrollers (MCUs) with embedded flash technology, including 8-, 16-, and 32-bit devices for industrial applications. The 8-bit TSSOP-20-packaged XC864 Series has up to 4 kB of on-chip Flash and an internal clock source with embedded voltage regulator, supporting single-voltage supply of 3.3 V or 5.0 V. The 16-bit XE16xM microcontrollers combine the enhanced C166S-V2 core with an extended set of peripherals and on-chip memory. The 32-bit TC1167 and TC1197 support multiple modulation strategies such as Space Vector Control or Direct Torque Control and provide multiprocessor support. The unit price of the 32-bit TC1167 is about $20.16.
Starter kits including an evaluation board, a free tool chain, comprehensive documentation incl. code examples and DAvE support can be ordered at Infineon or via the web shop of hitex (see www.ehitex.de).
