Forty percent smaller than standard SOT23 devices, the DAC8411 family of 8- to 16-bit, pin-compatible single-channel digital-to-analog converter (DAC) family from Texas Instruments is now available in the SC70 package. The devices accept a nominal input of 80 uA at 1.8 V, in an acceptable range from 1.8 V to 5.5 V and have a settling time of 6 µs (typical). Features include a power-on glitch of only 17 mV and 0.15 nV-sec output glitch energy, and all devices use versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 50 MHz. The DACs are compatible with the ADS8326 analog-to-digital converter, the OPA211 operational amplifier, the ISO721 digital isolator and the REF5050 voltage reference. From less than $1 in quantity.
