Spatial Channel Modeling Tool Serves WiMAX/LTE Applications

EB SCMOperating in the EB Propsim radio channel emulators, EB’s new spatial channel modeling (SCM) and SCM extended (SCME) emulation method and tool target mobile devices and base stations using Mobile WiMAX and 3GPP LTE. The product is based on a geometry-based stochastic modeling method for system-level emulations and performance metrics, such as throughput and delay, are measured over a number of emulation runs called “drops”. The “drops” consist of a predefined number of radio frames and the channel experiences fast fading according to the movement of the terminals. The tool allows users to control and adjust parameters affecting single link level and system level channel conditions, including scenarios with multi-users, handoffs, interference, and other multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna configurations. It helps handset, mobile terminal and base station developers reveal MIMO transceiver design errors and optimize their network level algorithms.
