GMR Current Sensor Presents Wide Input Range
Combining a GMR bridge sensor element with an on-chip current strap, NVE Corporation’s AAV003-10E giant magnetoresistive (GMR) current sensor offers a bipolar bridge output voltage proportional to the current through the strap over an input range from -80 mA to 80 mA. The device exhibits a typ. sensitivity of 1 mV/mA with a 12-V supply and no amplification, as well as max. strap resistance of 0.35 O. The output is independent of shunt resistance in the 2.50-mm × 2.50-mm, 6-pin TDFN-packaged component. The product targets circuit board current sensing for process control and instrumentation, as well as 4-mA-to-20-mA current loop detection. Pricing is $1.66 each in 1,000 quantities.
