White LEDs Implement Advanced Materials, Packaging
Providing a thermal resistance of 25K/W and available in power levels from 5,600 mcd to 14,000 mcd, the VLMW84xx Series of SMT white LEDs is presented as the first InGaN/TAG on sapphire devices of their type to come in a CLCC-2 flat ceramic package. The 0.75 x 3.3 x 3.4-mm emitters have a service life of up to 50,000 hours, with a typical luminous flux of 27,000 mlm and an optical efficiency of 40 lm/W at 100 mA. The RoHS-compliant devices feature a luminous intensity ratio per package unit of IV max/IV min = 1.6, a forward voltage of up to 5 V, and a 60° half-intensity angle. The devices are automotive qualified AEC-Q101 and offer an ESD-withstand voltage up to 1 kV in accordance with JESD22-A114-B.
