Covering from 2.3 GHz to 2.7 GHz, Skywork Solutions' SKY77441 SMT power amplifier module targets LTE frequency division duplex (FDD) Band 7 and time division duplex (TDD) Bands 38 and 40 applications. The 4-mm × 4-mm × 0.85-mm unit delivers >26 dBm of linear power output with full LTE resource block allocation under either QPSK or 16 QAM and >28 dBm of linear output power under WCDMA modulation. Small and efficient, the LTE FEM integrates the input and output matching networks, the power amplification stages and the power detection. The component fits in 4G-compatible handset radios and data cards, supports operating voltages down to 3 V, and uses Skyworks’ indium gallium phosphide (InGaP) bipolar field effect transistor (BiFET) design and Skyworks Green packaging solutions.
