Light-to-Digital Sensor Exhibits High Power Efficiency
Coming in a translucent, 6-lead ODFN package, Intersil Corporation’s ISL29020 light-to-digital sensor uses <65-mA max. operating current. The component offers 4 selectable ranges of light sensitivity from 0.015 lux to 64,000 lux in direct sunlight and low-light conditions. The unit has an I²C output and interface, with the digital output being a code directly proportional to the lux, as well as software and automatic shutdown with a shutdown current of 0.5 mA. The device is appropriate for smart phones, GPS devices, LCD TVs, portable computing devices, and automotive infotainment and display applications.
