Handheld Computer Performs in Rugged Environments
Coming in a case molded from Cycoloy, Two Technologies’ Safari IP-65-rated handheld computer resists against dust, water, chemical substances, and optimal drop and shock. The 14-oz device consists of a 240 × 320 QVGA transflective display with integral touch screen, a 26-key or a 41-key alpha-numeric keypad, 128-MB SRAM, 128-MB internal Flash, a user-accessible SD card slot. The product uses the Microsoft Windows CE .NET 5.0 operating system, a Marvell PXA270 processor operating at 520 MHz, and an integrated speaker, which provides application-specific audio feedback via .WAV files. The computer offers wireless communications and networking capabilities via Bluetooth, WLAN 802.11b/g, and GPRS, and comes with ports for RS-232, USB, and IR, and an integrated 1D barcode scan engine for reading symbologies. An optional 4000 mAh high capacity battery is available.
