Gas Discharge Tubes Demonstrate Low Capacitance
Protecting sensitive datacom and telecom equipment from transient surge voltage damage from lighting strikes and equipment switching operations, Tyco Electronics’ R Series gas discharge tubes (GDTs) exhibit capacitance values as low as 0.5 pF. The SMT components offer a voltage range from 75 V to 600 V, sizes from 3 mm to 8 mm, 2- or 3-electrode versions, and compliance with GR-1089 Core, ITU K.20/K.21, and TIA standards. Applications include high-speed xDSL modems, splitters, DSLAM equipment, AIO printers, base stations and security systems. Pricing ranges from $0.13 to $0.30 in 100,000 quantities.
