Front-End Power Supplies Controls Output Digitally
Employing an 8-bit MCU, TDK-Lambda's EFE Series embedded front-end power supplies delivers digital control of the output via a primary side control topology. The 300-W EFE-300 and the 400-W EFE-400 single-output instruments supply 133% peak power capability for 10 seconds, exhibit efficiency of up to 90%, and offer nominal outputs of 12 V at 25 A or 24 V at 12.5 A and 12 V at 33.3 A or 24 V at 16.7 A, respectively. The 1U-profile units have peak-load power density of up to 22 W/in³ and continuous-load power density of up to 16.6 W/in³ in broadcast, instrumentation, industrial, ATE, automation, router, server, and security network applications. The RoHS-compliant devices include a magnetics transformer, a fan supply output of 12 V at 0.25 A, active power factor correction, and SiC diodes while operating from a 90-VAC to 264-VAC input.
