DC Servo Motors Produce High Torque
Exhibiting nominal no-load speeds of up to 8,720 rpm, AMETEK Technical & Industrial Products’ Pittman-brand “Series 6000” brush-commutated DC servo motors generate maximum peak torque of 10.2 oz/in. The 1.901” device delivers 2-oz/in. continuous torque, while the 1.256” and 1.556” instruments achieve continuous torque of 0.800 oz/in. and 1.300 oz/in., respectively. The 22-mm (D) motors have a skewed 5-slot armature design, bonded neodymium iron boron magnets, sintered bronze bearings, 2-pole stators, heavy-gauge steel housing, silicon steel laminations, and copper graphite brushes. Available options include ball bearings, EMI/RFI filter networks, and leadwire or terminal connection configurations. Planetary gearboxes can be specified and optical encoders with several resolution choices can be added for position, velocity, and direction feedback.
