COM Express Module Adjusts Fan Speed
Regulating the CPU temperature, Advantech’s SOM-5781 COM Express module uses the SUSI API tool’s “reduce CPU speed” command to prevent a system crash when abnormal status is detected from the CPU fan while issuing an optional alarm message via Ethernet. The component supports the Sempron Socket S1 Series CPU or AMD Turion 64 X2 CPU with an integrated ATI graphic engine and chipset, as well as 48/24-bit LVDS TCT LCD panels and two DDR2 800/667-MHz SoDIMM memories of up to 4 GB. I/O capabilities include four PCIe x1 and one PCIe x8 or one DVI interface, one GbE LAN, four SATA ports, one EIDE, eight USB 2.0 ports and high-definition audio. The module can add an external 128-MB graphic memory onto a side port.
