SoC Combines Wi-Fi, Active RTLS, and Wireless Sensing
Coming with a processor running a TCP/IP stack, G2 Microsystems’ G2C547 IEEE 802.11b/g SoC handles Wi-Fi Internet connectivity, active RTLS, and wireless sensing capabilities. The 72-pin QFN-packaged component operates in a thin-client architecture for Internet-enabling MCU-based devices, or in a G2-hosted architecture that eliminates the external processor and runs on the G2 CPU. Other offerings include EPC Gen 2 capability for RFID/RTLS applications; a sensor interface to measure and monitor motion, temperature, and acceleration; and SPI master/slave and SDIO interfaces. A G2C547 evaluation kit is available. Pricing is $9.00 in 100,000 quantities.
