Module Allows Two Parallel-Running Operating Systems
Including Hypervisor Software 2.0 from Real-Time Systems, congatec AG’s conga-QA Qseven embedded PC module lets any two operating systems to be run in parallel independently from one another and with real-time capability. The component supports Intel hyper-threading and virtualization since it is based on the Intel Atom Z530 processor and the Intel System Controller Hub US15W. The individual CPUs, devices, memory, and I/O ports are directly allocated to the individual operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows CE, Linux, Pre-Emptive Linux, VxWorks, Microware OS-9, Ontime RTOS-32, and Pharlap ETS. Other operating systems, such as QNX or proprietary operating systems, can be ported onto the Hypervisor platform at any time. Communication between the operating systems occurs via shared memory or through a virtual network, power consumption is <5 W, and dimensions are 70 mm².
