MCUs Integrate LCD Driver
Targeting portable handheld devices, Freescale Semiconductor’s S08LL, RS08LA, and RS08LE 8-bit MCU families incorporate a high-segment on-chip LCD driver. The components have a low-power blinking mode, front- and back-plane reassignment, an internal charge pump, and an internal clock source. The 9S08LL16/8 units present a voltage range from 1.8 V to 3.6 V, CPU speed of 20 MHz, an 8-channel keyboard interrupt, up to 38 GPIOs, up to 18 LCD pins mux with GPIO, low-voltage detect (LVD), and a time-of-day module. The 9RS08LA8 offers a voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, CPU speed of 10 MHz, 8-channel keyboard interrupt, up to 34 GPIOs, 18 LCD pins mux with GPIO, LVD, and RTI. The 9RS08LE4 exhibits a voltage range from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, a RS08 core with capability from 1 MHz to 20 MHz, 4K Flash, 256 B RAM, 8-channel keyboard interrupt, up to 26 GPIOs, LVD, and RTI.
