LISTED UNDER:

HI-TECH C PROTargeting Silicon Labs’ 8051 MCU family, Hi-Tech Software’s HI-TECH C PRO “omniscient code generation” (OCG) compiler uses Silicon Labs’ Dhrystone V1.1 benchmark and a 22.11 MHz clock to achieve 55.40% more DMIPS/MHz in a 49% smaller code size than other non-OCG compilers in its class, according to the company. The ANSI C program collects comprehensive data on every register, stack, pointer, object, and variable declaration across the entire program, and uses the information to optimize register usage, stack allocations, and pointers across the entire program. The compiler knows which registers are available at any point in the program, optimizes register usage dynamically, and allocates parameters for different functions into non-overlapping register sets. The software supports code debugging with compiler optimizations turned on; supports Silicon Labs IDE, and runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Pricing is $1,495.
