ADCs Consume Low Power
Providing 18-bits of resolution, Microchip Technology’s MCP3422, MCP3423, and MCP3424 delta-sigma ADCs exhibit power consumption of 135 µA at 3-V continuous conversion. The 2 mm × 3 mm DFN-packaged components integrate a voltage reference, a programmable gain amplifier, and an on-board oscillator. The multi-channel devices are appropriate for portable instrument applications in the industrial, medical, consumer, and automotive markets. The accompanying MCP3424 evaluation board enables the user to evaluate the performance of the MCP3424 ADC by interfacing to the PICkit serial analyzer.
