Temperature Sensor Works in DDR3 Apps
Complying with JEDEC specification JC42.4, Catalyst Semiconductor’s CAT6095 12-bit digital output temperature sensor targets DDR3 memory module applications in high-speed PCs and laptops, environmental control systems and industrial process control equipment. The unit demonstrates ±1°C temperature sensing accuracy from 75°C to 95°C and ±3°C accuracy from -20°C to 125°C in a supply voltage range from 3 V to 3.60 V. The sensor measures and records the system temperature approximately 10 times per second with readings compared to three trigger limits stored in the internal memory registers. Readings can be retrieved by the host system via the I2C/SMBus interface with over- and under-limit conditions signaled on the open-drain EVENT pin. The component comes in either a 2 mm × 3 mm × 0.55 mm UDFN package or a 2 mm × 3 mm × 0.80 mm TDFN package, and both contain an integrated backside metal pad.
