Stepper Motor/Driver/Controller Offers USB Interface
Coming in a NEMA 17 package, Arcus Technology’s DMX-J-SA stepper motor/driver/controller integrates a built-in USB 2.0 interface for communication and programming tasks. The single-axis solution exhibits a current rating of 2 A max at 24 V, and supports 16 micro-step operation. The USB interface eliminates the need for serial bus drivers or TCP/IP programming, and automatically detects the device. To operate in standalone mode, a BASIC-like programming language creates and tests an instruction set, which is downloaded over the USB interface and stored directly in the controller's Flash memory (a computer can be used to monitor and report operation). When controlling the stepper with a PC or a host controller, the USB interface writes and debugs the control program.
