Predicting bit error rates directly on the eye visually, LeCroy’s SDA 7xxZi Series oscilloscopes integrate SDA II with IsoBER to determine the minimum eye opening, and detecting cross-talk by analyzing the vertical eye closure. The instruments use X-Stream II architecture to decompose jitter simultaneously through traditional spectral and NQ-Scale algorithms, which warns when there is a deviation between the results with a color-coded warning system. Intuitive graphical views of jitter decomposition show the root cause of problems through a periodic jitter spectrum identifying the sources having the most periodic jitter, an ISI Plot isolating bit patterns contributing the most intersymbol interference, and a DDJ histogram for insight into the distribution of data dependent jitter. The tools include a 15.3” 16:9 HD touchscreen display, removable front panel, LSIB serial interface bus, TriggerScan, and WaveScan. Pricing starts at $39,490.
