Everlight Electronics introduced four-pin SSOP phototransistor optocouplers combining key specifications important to power supply designers. These include a low-profile (2 mm) package, high isolation voltage (3,750 Vrms), minimum creepage distance (5 mm), wide operating temperature range (-55°C to +110°C), multiple current-transfer-ratio (CTR) bins and high breakdown voltage (80 V). The EL3H7-G series’ 11 devices are suited for use in DC/DC converters, battery chargers, general-purpose switching circuits and programmable controllers. The devices offer a small form factor (2 mm max. package height and 1.27 mm lead pitch) to accommodate designs with limited board real estate; higher temperature operation (-55°C to +110°C) for system reliability; selectable CTR ranges characterized at low LED currents for design flexibility; 80 V breakdown voltage; and high isolation voltage (3750 Vrms) for desirable insulation characteristics. The optocouplers are Halogen-free, Pb-free and RoHS-compliant to meet green environmental initiatives. These features allow power supplies to deliver the maximum usable power over a wider temperature range.
