LEDs Demonstrate High Optical Power
Using InGaN/TAG on sapphire technology, Vishay Intertechnology’s VLMW63 and VLMW64 white power SMT LEDs operate with an optical power range from 2,240 mcd to 5,600 mcd. The CLCC-6-packaged VLMW63 possesses thermal resistance of 50 k/W, and the CLCC-6 flat ceramic-packaged VLMW64 has thermal resistance of 40 k/W and a profile of 0.9 mm. The 3.3 mm × 3.4 mm lights last for up to 50,000 hours in end products including flashes for cameras, emergency lighting, and automotive instrument panels and exterior lighting. The IR-reflow solder process-compatible LEDs offer a typical luminous flux of 11,000 mlm, optical efficiency up to 30 lm/W, and luminous intensity ratio per package unit of IV max/IV min =1.6. The Pb-free RoHS-compliant devices have forward voltage up to 4.3 V, 60° half-intensity angle, and ESD-withstand voltage up to 2 kV. Pricing ranges from $0.48 to $0.60 each.
