Outputting currents up to 1 A to drive resistive and inductive loads, Vishay Intertechnology’s VO3526 phototriac consists of a GaAs infrared LED optically coupled to a monolithic photosensitive non-zero-crossing TRIAC detector chip. The 16-pin DIP-packaged device provides isolation between DC and AC voltages on 120 VAC and 240 VAC lines. The phototriac offers a 600 V blocking voltage rating, input-to-output isolation of 5,300 V and input trigger current of 10 mA. The component exhibits optimization in noisy environments, and can be used as a solid-state relay. Applications include air conditioners, refrigerators, dishwashers, washer/dryers and oven ranges. Pricing is $1.25 in 10,000 quantities.
