Nano-ITX Board Employs Media System Processor
Utilizing a 1.5 GHz VIA C7 or 500 MHz VIA Eden processor, VIA Technologies’ VIA EPIA N700 Nano-ITX board uses the 33 mm² VIA VX800 media system processor for industrial PC and embedded automation devices. The component offers 2 S-ATA ports, a Gigabit LAN port, a COM port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, an integrated DX9 graphics core, a mini-PCI slot on the reverse side of the board and the VIA PadLock Security Engine. The board includes onboard pin-headers to provide COM, IDE, 24-bit dual channel LVDS, SM Bus, SPI, 4 x GPI and 4 x GPO support. The product requires a single 4-pin power cable for operation, and comes with an external CMOS battery. The media system processor presents an integrated VIA Chrome 9 graphics core with DirectX 9 support, VIA Chromotion video engines accelerating MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV9, VC1 and DiVX video formats, and a VMR-capable HD video processor.
