Lens Works with VGA Image Sensors
Using wafer-level camera (WLC) technology, Tessera Technologies’ OptiML WL-VGA-1E single-element VGA lens for cell phone camera modules performs with 2.2 µm pixel VGA image sensors. The liquid crystal polymer device offers two optical surfaces, an integrated infrared filter, reflow compatibility and 2.1 mm optical track length. The Pb-free lens presents 28° max CRA, 60° HFOV, relative illumination of >50%, TV distortion of <10% and optical distortion of <13%. The product attaches to the lens holder via epoxy or snap-in features, mounts to the sensor cover glass via epoxy or die attach film, and has focus adjustment through holder rotation within the camera housing. Applications include PC cameras, gaming consoles, security cameras and video conferencing solutions. Sample pricing starts at $1.00 each for quantities of a few thousand.
