Sensor ICs Offer Low Linearity

Seiko S-58LM20AExhibiting a typical nonlinearity of ±0.4% from -20°C to 80°C, Seiko Instruments’ S-58LM20A Series of temperature sensor ICs yield a typical linear output voltage of -11.77 mV/°C. The Pb-free devices offer ±2.50°C accuracy against temperature in the temperature range from -55°C to 130°C and consist of a temperature sensor, constant current circuit and an operation amplifier. The ICs use a typical current consumption of 4.50 µA (6 µA max) in power supply voltage VDD ranges from 2.40 to 5.50 V (-30°C to 130°C) and 2.70 to 5.50 V (-55°C to 130°C). Applications include compensation for amplifier gain, LCD contrast, auto focus circuits, cellular phones and radio equipment as well as battery management and halogen lights. Pricing is $0.34 each in 10,000 quantities.
