Six-Slot Shelf Provides Space For ATCA Blades
Providing space for six node ATCA blades in a 6U shelf, Asis offers its Perform Series six-slot advanceTCA shelf, suitable for telecom and data communications products that require availability, fault management and real-time performance. In addition, the HUB functionality is already integrated in the standard shelf management boards. The shelf manager is based on Pigeon Point 500 shelf management module (ShMM) and features a unique HPI-based software module, offering access to the shelf control and management interface. The shelf also features a distribution of sensors, alarm I/O, a fault-tolerant airflow design, two 38 mm fan trays with eight performance fans each, push-pull cooling, and patented air flow technology. The fan control board automatically controls chassis temperature using temperature sensors located inside the chassis or controlled by the device's blade/switch using I2C bus. The series contains support for over 300W per slot and is compliant with the NEBS (GR63) cooling requirements. The cooling scheme also enables customization of the air flow according to the user's specific needs – allowing power dissipation from selected slots. For applications requiring more than 300W per slot, the Perform Series airflow can be customized to meet specific thermal requirements.
