Ambient Light Sensor Mimics Human Eye Response

APDS-9300 low-voltage ambient light sensorIntended for use in consumer, industrial and automotive applications, Avago’s APDS-9300 digital ambient light sensor is designed to approximate the spectral response curve of the human eye. Using an I²C interface with a 16-bit digital output at 400 kHz, the chipLED-packaged device has a programmable interrupt function with user-defined upper and lower threshold settings. The RoHS-compliant ambient light sensor accepts a 2.5-V input voltage at 0.6 mW (typical) with a power-down mode for energy savings. From $1.20 in minimum quantities of 2,500.
