Active Bypass Power Amplifiers Extend Handset Usage Time
With a power-saving quiescent current of 3mA and a gain of 10dB, Avago’s ACPM-7353 power amplifier can deliver power levels up to 11 dBm, extending operation in portable devices without compromising performance. Deployable using high, mid, or active-bypass power modes, the device supports cellular and USPCS dual-band frequencies with an RF input port for each band. Based on the fifth generation of its revolutionary CoolPAM technology, the Avago amplifier achieves up to a 10 percent extension of battery life over previous CDMA/UMTS network products. The dual-band amplifier ships in a compact 4 mm × 5 mm module. Pricing begins at $1.90 in 1,000 quantities.
