Single-Chip Front End Advances Low-Power Residential Gateways
Enabling the creation of improved low-power multi-mode VDSL2/ADSL2+ triple play residential gateways, Ikanos Communications' FXS60IF1 single-chip Integrated Front End (IFE) integrates the xDSL line driver to reduce external components and power consumption compared to existing solutions. The device provides VDSL2 performance while meeting the DSL Forum’s stringent ADSL2+ and ADSL performance specifications (TR-100 and TR-067 respectively). When deployed in conjunction with a processor such as the Fusiv Vx180, the FXS60IF1 provides a multi-mode triple play residential gateway that meets ITU-T standards for VDSL2, ADSL2+, ADSL2 and ADSL. Physical layer technology features include impulse noise protection, Rapid Rate Adaptation (RRA), on-chip quality of service (QoS) and wire-speed network processor performance.
