Intermediate-bus Power Controllers are Highly Integrated
Presented as the first such single-chip devices on the market to integrate high-voltage (75V) half-bridge MOSFET drivers with a 1.6A peak current driving capability, the Vishay Siliconix SiP11205 and SiP11206 controllers are designed to work on the primary side of an isolated half-bridge intermediate-bus converter in telecom and network equipment and in 1/16-brick or 1/8-brick power modules. Providing current monitoring and control features, the self-driven synchronous-rectification controllers step down voltages with greater than 95 percent efficiency with an input voltage range from 36V to 75V as well as an oscillator frequency programmable from 200 kHz to 1 MHz synchronizable to an external sync source. The devices are available in MLP44-16 or TSSOP-16 PowerPAK® and have a reference design for a full implementation of an IBC module capable of handling 15 A at a 12-V output and operating with greater than 95 percent efficiency available for download at www.vishay.com/doc?69636. 1,000-unit pricing for the SiP11205 is $2.25 and $1.95 for the SiP11206.
