Murata Power Solutions introduced two small form-factor point-of-load (POL) DC/DC Converters for powering DDR1, DDR2 and DDR3 memory, as well as general purpose ICs in multiple applications. The 60A-rated VCN60BADJTU-1C and 70A-rated VCN70BADJTU-1C provide high efficiency, high bandwidth solutions for applications such as computer equipment, telecommunications hardware, test equipmentand industrial automation. Both the 60A and 70A DC/DC converters have a current density of approximately 50A/in3 and efficiency of 88 percent at full load. Programmable output voltage range is 0.6V to 3.5V DC, with a typical set point accuracy of 0.5 percent. Input voltage is 12V DC, and the modules have an industry standard height of 1U that can help simplify integration. Other features of the VCN60BADJTU-1C and VCN70BADJTU-1C include a soft start circuit, differential remote sense, power good signal, pre-bias turn on, and output enable. Safety features include over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection.
