Cree, Inc. announced its cool-white LEDs with 129 lumens per Watt and its warm-white LEDs with 99 lumens per Watt. These packaged, high-power LEDs for solid-state lighting were tested by NIST at 350 mA, and the outputs were measured after five minutes of operation to ensure thermal stabilization. This LED technology could lead to products that replace traditional light sources in commercial applications.
