Crosspoint Switches Provide Low Power and Flexibility for High-Speed Applications

Tue, 07/31/2007 - 4:56am

TI_LVCP404_chip_WEB.jpgTexas Instruments Incorporated introduced two crosspoint switches supporting data rates up to 4.25Gbps. The 4 × 4 and 2 × 2 switches provide a desirable combination of high speed, low power and low jitter performance for applications such as XAUI signal buffering/muxing, backplane redundancy and high-speed network routing in end equipment such as wireless base stations and IP network routers. The SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402’s ability to function as either a crosspoint switch or buffer will give designers the flexibility to use the devices in a variety of applications in the mass market. The SN65LVCP404 (4 x 4) and SN65LVCP402 (2 x 2) are available now in 48-pin and 24-pin quad flat no lead (QFN) lead-free packages and are priced at $9.85 and $6.65, respectively, each in 1,000-piece quantities.
