The Automotive Sensors division of PCB Piezotronics (PCB) released a series of acoustic sensors for use in automotive testing applications such as legislative certification, quality control, system and component performance, and vehicle and powertrain NVH, including measurements for powertrain noise, wind noise, road noise, acoustic holography, sound quality, break squeal, and squeak and rattle. These acoustic sensors facilitate the sound measurements required of refined cabin interiors, as well as resilience against external inclement weather conditions and harsh underhood environments. All array models include a TEDS-compatible option, allowing for high channel counts and traceability, as well as conformance with the IEEE 1451.1 standard. PCB array microphones, with integral preamplifier, provide cmulti-channel measurements and operate from the same constant current source required for ICP accelerometers, allowing use of PCB microphones alongside of ICP accelerometers in the same test, minimizing set-up time.
