The unit provides location, velocity and UTC real time for a variety of mobile and in-vehicle testing applications. The device is built around the Garmin GPS 16-HVS which provides location information with a positional error of 3m in areas served by the WAAS (most of North America) and 15m accuracy worldwide. Steady state velocity measurements are provided with an accuracy of .1 knot, and it is also a source of accurate time/date information. The GPS 1 PPS (pulse per second) output is synchronized to UTC time within ±1 µs.
