Transceiver ICs Integrate Microprocessor

Ecnmag.com - August 28, 2008

CEL ZIC2410California Eastern Laboratories’ ZIC2410 Series of ZigBee transceiver ICs combine a ZigBee-compliant RF transceiver with an 8051-based 8-bit microprocessor. The QN48- or VFBGA72-packaged devices offer a receiver sensitivity of -98 dBm, link budget of 106 dB and maximum output power of 8 dBm. The system-on-chip ICs transmit voice data via an onboard a-law/µ-law audio CODEC with ADPCM support combined with an I²S interface while operating over a Tx/Rx frequency range from 2.4000 to 2.4835 GHz and a voltage range from 1.5000 to 3.3000 V. The components have power consumption of 29.7000 mA or 30.6000 mA in transmit mode, 33.2000 mA in receive mode and 0.3000 µA in standby mode. They are suitable for home and building automation, remote sensing, AMR/AMI and security networks.
