Designed for stepper and servo motors with shaft sizes from 2 to 5 mm in packaging machines and other industrial and factory automation applications, the AEDx-8xxx encoder series of three-channel optical incremental encoders includes a codewheel, LED light source, and detector IC. Supporting motor speeds of up to 24,000 RPM with a CPR of up to 500, the bearing-less device has integrated 2-channel quadrature outputs and a third channel ungated index output (A, B, I) consisting of a positive index pulse generated once for each full mechanical revolution. Features of the 20 × 18-mm encoder include a frequency reponse of up to 200 kHz, an IP40 rating, and an integrated RS422 line driver. The operating temperature range is from -40° to 100°C. $30 each in quantities of 1,000.
