Four-Direction Sensor Exhibits Noiseless Operation

ROHM RPI-1040Using an infrared LED, 2 phototransistors, and a light blocking mechanism, ROHM Electronics’ RPI-1040 SMT 4-direction sensor detects up, down, left, and right movement in 90° intervals with noiseless operation. Instantaneous gravity direction detection is enabled, which is linked to the movement of the device. The tilt sensor offers a profile of 0.8 mm, making it suitable for digital cameras, digital photo frames, portable TVs, and mobile phones.
