Ultra-broadband directional couplers cover the frequency range of 1.0 GHz to 40.0 GHz
KRYTAR announces the continued expansion of its line of directional couplers with the addition of two new models offering 20 dB Nominal Coupling over the ultra-broadband frequency range of 1.0 to 40.0 GHz, each in a single, compact and lightweight package.
KRYTAR’s new directional couplers add to the growing family of superior performance products offering ultra-broadband coverage in compact packages. KRYTAR’s Model 101040020 and Model 101040020K are multi-purpose, stripline designs that exhibit excellent coupling over the 1.0 to 40.0 GHz frequency band. Targeting broadband electronic warfare (EW) systems and commercial wireless system applications, for example, KRYTAR’s directional couplers are extremely valuable in a wide array of applications including signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, cable distributed systems, and military and EMC testing environments. The compact size, makes these directional couplers ideal solutions in many space-restricted applications.
KRYTAR’s superior design has extended the frequency range of these couplers from 1.0 to 40.0 GHz with Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 20 dB, ±1.0 dB and Frequency Sensitivity of ±1.20 dB. Directivity specifications are >14 dB (1.0 to 20.0 GHz) and >10 dB (20.0 to 40.0 GHz). The directional couplers exhibit Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 0.85 dB (1.0 to 20.0 GHz) and less than 1.5 dB (20.0 to 40.0 GHz). Maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.5 (1.0 to 20.0 GHz) and 1.7 (20.0 to 40.0 GHz), Input Power Rating for both designs is 20 W average and 3 kW peak.
Model 101040020 comes with industry-standard 2.4-mm SMA female connectors while Model 101040020K comes with 2.92-mm SMA female connectors. Both are compact packages measuring 2.00 inches (L) x 0.40 inches (W) x 0.65 inches (H), and weigh only 1.3 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C. These directional stripline couplers can also be manufactured to meet military specifications.
