Discrete-to-digital sensing devices include eight configurable channels
Holt Integrated Circuits today announced the availability of evaluation boards for its latest discrete-to-digital product line. Three different boards are available to demonstrate the unique features of HI-8425, HI-8430 and HI-8435 product families.
The HI-8425 and HI-8430 are discrete-to-digital sensing devices with eight channels configurable to detect either GND/Open or 28V/Open voltage levels. The HI-8425 also includes four 200mA low-side output drivers, whereas the HI-8430 has four 200mA high-side output drivers. The recently announced HI-8435 is a 32 channel device with GND/Open or 28V/Open sense inputs. This device features an SPI interface used to program the sense threshold values and read the sense output states. The thresholds and hysteresis are programmable in 0.5V steps from 2V to 21V. In addition, all products feature built-in lightning protection and are fully compliant to Airbus ABD0100H.
Evaluation boards come with set-up instructions and numerous examples of operating each device under typical application conditions. In the cases of HI-8425 and HI-8430, varying the input thresholds is demonstrated, along with operation of the output drivers. In the case of HI-8435, programming and communication over the SPI interface is showcased using the included software.
