CMOS Oscillator Provides -168 dBc-Hz Noise Floor
Crystek Corporation has launched the CCHD-575 [1], a new Ultra-Low Phase Noise CMOS Oscillator [2] providing a -168 dBc/Hz noise floor. The CCHD-575 is presented as the industry’s lowest-jitter clock oscillator in a
5 x 7.5 mm package.

Crystek’s CCHD-575 features a typical phase jitter of 82 fSec RMS at 100 MHz. Close-in phase noise is -90 dBc/Hz @ 10 Hz, while its floor is at -168 dBc/Hz. The extremely low phase noise performance is very useful in applications such as: DACs (digital-to-analog converters), ADCs (analog-to-digital converters), low phase signal sources, and test & measurement.
The CCHD-575 generates frequencies between 50MHz and 130MHz. Its output driver is capable of driving ±24mA, translating to a rise/fall time of ~600ps at 100 MHz with a 15pF load. Input supply voltage of 3.3Vdc consuming 15mA of current is required. Extended temperature operating range of -40°C to +85°C is also available.
The Crystek CCHD-575 CMOS Oscillator is made in the U.S.A. and available from Crystek’s stocking distributors. For pricing details, contact Crystek Corporation.
