802.11n Wireless Access Point Enables High-Speed Transmissions

80211n access ptThe Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduced the EKI-6311GN, an IEEE 802.11n industrial wireless access point. It is said to deliver three times the throughput rates of a normal 802.11g. It is fully backward compatible with legacy 802.11b/g frequencies. With the support of STP, WMM, and IGMP snooping protocols, the EKI-6311GN is asserted to improve the reliability of wireless connectivity. The EKI-6311GN can achieve data rates up to 150 Mbps, which allows high-speed internet access with various data and network video surveillance transmissions. It provides 600 mW high output power for long range deployment up to 5km Also, a Power over Ethernet injector enables a unified supply of data and power through a standard Ethernet cable. This enhances the flexibility in deployment of this AP/CPE even where the DC power supply is hard to fulfill. To maximize wireless network security and privacy, the EKI-6311GN incorporates 64/128/152-bit WEP data encryption, WPA, WPA2, 802.1x, which can filter external user and prevent illegal attacking. Some other EKI-6311GN features include, embedded 8dBi directional antenna with external N-type connector, wide operating temperature range (-20 ~ 70°C), and IP55 waterproof certification.
