Multichannel DACs Exhibit Low Power Consumption
Offering pin and software compatibility to each other, Maxim Integrated Products’ MAX5134/MAX5135 (quad) and MAX5136/MAX5137 (dual) 16- and 12-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) draw <300 nA of power in sleep mode. The 4-mm × 4-mm, 24-pin TQFN-packaged devices operate on an average current of 2.5 mA with ±8-LSB INL at 16 bits and ±1-LSB INL at 12 bits. The DACs offer an integrated voltage reference with a temperature coefficient of 10 ppm/°C; a pin-programmable zero/midscale DAC output, and a 3-wire SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-/DSP-compatible serial interface. The units perform in industrial process control and portable instrumentation, automatic tuning, gain and offset adjustment, power amplifier control, data acquisition, programmable voltage, and current source applications. From $2.50 in 1,000 quantities and up.
