SPDs Provide Continuous Over-Voltage Protection

Providing continuous protection from over-voltage and other transient voltage activity, medium voltage surge protection devices (SPDs) from Raycap meet the IEEE C62.11-2005 Standard. The Strikesorb 40-3000, Strikesorb 40-4000, and Strikesorb 40-5000 are designed to protect equipment from lightning strikes, power surges, and spikes without performance deterioration. The modules are comprised of a single distribution-grade metal oxide varistor (MOV) disc (40mm in diameter) in an environmentally-sealed aluminum housing. The series provides a maximum continuous operating voltage of from 2.55-kV to 4.25-kV, with a rated voltage from 3-kV to 5-kV. All three versions have been tested to 70-kA (8/20µs) and 100-kA (4/10µs) surge current levels.
