LED Controller Delivers 70 W
Using an external N-channel MOSFET, Linear Technology’s LT3756 high-side current sense LED controller drives up to 20 1 A white LEDs from a nominal 12 V input, delivering up to 70 W. The DC/DC converter operates in an input voltage range from 6 V to 100 V in automotive, industrial, and architectural lighting applications in boost, buck, buck-boost, or SEPIC and flyback topologies. The 3 mm² 16-pin QFN-packaged component offers True Color PWM dimming in ranges up to 3,000:1, 100 mV current sense, adjustable frequency from 100 kHz to 1 MHz, and shutdown current of <1 µA. The controller includes a open LED status pin, frequency synchronization, PWM disconnect switch driver, CTRL pin, constant-current and constant-voltage regulation, and programmable soft-start and undervoltage lockout with hysteresis. Pricing starts at $2.90 each in 1,000 quantities.
