Integrating into portable media players, camcorders, and mobile PCs, Toshiba Storage Device Division’s dual-platter MK2431GAH and single-platter MKxx31GAL Series 1.8” HDDs exhibit 120 GB per platter. The parallel ATA-interfaced components offer an areal density of 344 Gb/in.², media transfer rate of 488 Mbps, rotational speed of 4,200 rpm, average seek time of 15 ms, and interface transfer rate of 100 MB/s. The 54 mm × 71 mm × 8 mm 59 g MK2431GAH has energy consumption efficiency of 0.0013 W/GB and shock resistances of 4,900 m/s² (500 G, 2 ms, operating) and 14,700 m/s² (1,500 G, 1 ms, non-operating). The 54 mm × 71 mm × 5 mm 48 g MKxx31GAL Series yields energy consumption efficiency from 0.0025 W/GB to 0.0038 W/GB and shock resistances of 5,800 m/s² (600 G, 2 ms, operating) and 14,700 m/s² (1,500 G, 1 ms, non-operating).
