Ferrite Material Designed for Power Applications
Two ferrite materials are designed by Epcos for power range typical of SMPS and current meters. The N95 is distinguished by a high flux density of 525 mT at 25°C and 410 mT at 100°C. A specific feature is its low power dissipation at 100°C; it is only 250 kW/m³ at 500 kHz and has a flux density of 50 mT. It has an optimum operating frequency range of between 25 kHz and 500 kHz. Typical applications of device are power transformers in SMPS. This material is available in the E, ER and ETD cores. T36 is distinguished by its linearity and can be used in applications such as current meters. It has an initial permeability of 7000 and a flux density of 400 mT (25°C). Typical operating frequencies are between 50 Hz and 100 kHz. It is available as a ring core.
